It's all about the World View

One of the questions always asks: Is religion a problem?
The answer is "sometimes".
When religion becomes justification for harming others, it is a problem.

When the meme breeds a similar meme, that causes justification for harming others, it is a problem.

The opposite of religion (or believer) is Not believer. One that does NOT believe in the religious ideas that make a believer religious. Atheist vs Theist.

So the question becomes, is atheism a problem? Atheism can't be used to justify violence, so it can't be a problem.

Wars may or may not have been fought by atheists, but the fighting is for reasons other than not being religious, such as wanting power, or conquering land, or prevention of countries for acquiring the power to retaliate with destruction.

I believe in this coming age of information, that religion will do a great deal more harm than good. It has in the past, it will in the future. And one has to question the integrity of the believer when observable reality contradicts a believer's beliefs.

So we can in turn, ignore the question and live with cognitive dissonance, or we can face our lives without remorse.
